Women made trailblazing contributions to the field of botany as it emerged out of the Enlightenment. This lecture explores the rich history of female botanists, highlighting examples of women who traveled the globe as botanical researchers, illustrators, writers, and educators.

The event is in conjunction with FGCU's Archives and Special Collections exhibition, "The Shape of Orchids: An Eternal Love Affair".
